At Aspire Australia, we believe that migration is more than paperwork—it’s a life-changing journey. When Kirandeep first came to Australia from Punjab, India, in 2014, she didn’t know she would one day become an Australian citizen. Her initial goal was straightforward: to support her sister and earn a Bachelor of Nursing degree.

But life had different plans.

In 2017, Kirandeep met Harpratap, and together they decided to build a future in Australia. What began as a temporary stay soon became a long-term vision: to live, work, and eventually settle permanently in a country they had grown to love. That’s where we came in.

“After our first consultation, I knew I could trust your expertise,” Kirandeep shared with us. “You made things so much easier for us.”

Navigating Temporary Pathways: The Foundation

After completing her studies, Kirandeep transitioned to a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)—a crucial pathway for international students to remain in Australia and gain work experience. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted migration plans for thousands, she secured a COVID-19 Pandemic Event visa (subclass 408), allowing her to lawfully remain in the country during a time of great uncertainty.

Our role during this time was to provide clarity and stability. We helped Kirandeep navigate the available options, always keeping her long-term goal—permanent residency—in mind.

Strategic Planning for Skilled Migration

In 2020, we supported Kirandeep in applying for a skills assessment as a Registered Nurse—an essential first step for skilled migration under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program. Her assessment was successful, positioning her for the next phase: submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the SkillSelect system.

We didn’t simply submit Kirandeep’s EOI and wait—we took a proactive role in managing her EOI throughout the process. Our team continuously monitored state nomination criteria, tracked occupation list updates, and refined her strategy to ensure her profile remained competitive and aligned with evolving requirements.

We understood that timing, accuracy, and responsiveness were key—so we stayed on top of every change and made sure Kirandeep was positioned for success.

That strategic oversight paid off when she received a nomination from New South Wales, opening the door to her permanent residency through the Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa.

The Subclass 190 Visa: Permanent Residency Secured

The 190 visa is a state-nominated permanent residency visa for skilled workers with occupations in demand. It is points-tested, meaning that applicants must achieve a qualifying score based on factors such as age, qualifications, English proficiency, and work experience. Importantly, they must also secure a nomination from an Australian state or territory.

Once Kirandeep received her NSW nomination, we promptly prepared and lodged her Subclass 190 visa application in December 2022. We ensured that every element of her submission was complete, consistent, and fully supported by documentary evidence.

In January 2023, her permanent residency was granted—marking a significant milestone in her Australian journey.

“I don’t think we could have made it this far without your guidance,” she told us. “Your honest advice and expertise helped us reach our goals.”

The Final Chapter: Becoming an Australian Citizen

With permanent residency in hand, Kirandeep set her sights on citizenship—the final step in her migration journey.

We guided her through the process, which included verifying her eligibility, compiling the necessary documentation, and preparing her for the citizenship test. The test assesses her knowledge of Australia’s values, history, and government.

Her citizenship application was lodged in September 2024, and it was granted by May 2025. Shortly after, Kirandeep proudly attended her citizenship ceremony—a moment that symbolised the completion of a long and determined journey.

“Getting Australian citizenship was once a dream, which is now a reality. It’s only possible because of your support,” she said. “Everything was done in a timely manner. I will always recommend Aspire Australia to my friends and family.”

Why Clients Trust Aspire Australia

What makes a difference in a journey like Kirandeep’s is more than just migration knowledge—it’s the trust, dedication, and ongoing partnership we build with every client. At Aspire Australia, we’re proud to support our clients not just through individual applications, but through the entire migration journey—from the very first student visa to the final moment of citizenship.

Kirandeep’s journey is a shining example of what’s possible when expertise meets integrity, and when a migration agency treats your future as if it were their own.

“It was important for us to find someone we could trust with this whole process, and you proved it by delivering with experience and knowledge,” Kirandeep said. “I would love to continue this journey with Aspire Australia.”

We’re honoured to have been a part of Kirandeep and Harpratap’s story—and we look forward to helping many more individuals turn their Australian dreams into a reality.
