International Student Visa Holder? Listen up! Changes have just been announced for International Student Visas which will take effect from 1st July 2023.
The key changes include the following:
Additional two years for 485 Post Study Work stream visas (certain degrees only)
Former international students in Australia who have completed a degree in Australia may access extended subclass 485 visas from 1 July 2023
You MUST have studied a course in health, teaching, engineering and agricultural fields and have an occupation in one of those fields
Visa period changes:
- 4 years for select Bachelor Degrees
- 5 years for select Masters degrees
- 6 years for all Doctoral degrees
This applies to those who hold the 485 visa on 1 July 2023 or apply for the 485 visa from 1 July 2023. For those who would be eligible but their current 485 visa expires before the commencement on 1 July 2023, they will be eligible to apply for a 408 visa in the interim.
Student visa holder working hours will be up to 48 hours per fortnight
